Blackstone isn’t pulling any punches with their newest fat burner. It’s fully decked out with stims, thermogenics, feel good ingredients, and fat-storage blockers. If their first release post Hi-Tech merger is any indication, Blackstone is back in a BIG way.

Trixanthin Complex (375mg)

King Cobra’s backbone energy matrix is a compilation of three extracts including Ilex Guayusa, Green Tea and Theobroma Cacao which have been standardized to yield 200mg caffeine, 45mg EGCG, 25mg each Theobromine and Theophylline.

Ilex Guayusa

Traditionally consumed by Peruvian and Ecuadorian natives and other indigenous populations as a morning stimulant, Ilex Guayusa is a plant rich in caffeine and theobromine, as well as assorted flavonoids, sugars, and chlorogenic acids.[1,2]

Green Tea Extract

Green tea leads little introduction, it’s loaded with all sorts of polyphenols and catechins, notably EGCG, which have a number of cardiovascular and fat-burning benefits.[3,4]

Theobroma Cacao

Theobroma Cacao is taxonomical name for the cacao tree or cocoa tree. It’s seeds are the cocoa beans, from which cocoa powder, chocolate, and cocoa nibs are derived. It’s also rich in the xanthine compounds theobromine and theophylline, which is why it’s included in this trifecta of xanthine compounds.[5]

Eria Jarensis (150mg)

Eria Jarensis is a powerful PEA-like ingredient prized for its N-phenethyldimethylamine content.[6] This amine gives Eria an extremely pronounce “euphoric” feeling that just never seems to quit. Plus, it’s longer lasting than regular PEA due to the unique molecular structure.

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed this ingredient in numerous other pre workouts and fat burners we tested over the past year or so, and can’t sing its praises enough. But the big news here is that we’ve never seen or tried Eria Jarensis alongside DMAA! That is where this fat burner might take things to a whole new level.

Capsimax is an encapsulated cayenne pepper extract that prevents the side effects of taking capsaicin directly (like heartburn). We love it…. when it’s in a capsule based product like this one! Chile peppers are incredibly tasty and a great way to spice up your food, but they also accelerate weight loss. Capsaicin is the potent compound inside of chile peppers, such as cayenne, that give it its quintessential heat.

Capsimax is the patented capsaicin extract shown to increase thermogenesis and decrease appetite.[8,9]

As if this wasn’t hot enough with the stim blend and those grains of paradise… Blackstone is really going all out on thermo with King Cobra. Capsimax + Paradoxine = Serious thermogenesis!

BioPerine

BioPerine really needs know introduction. It’s been used extensively throughout the supplement industry for its ability to enhance the bioavailability of other compounds present in supplements. But, it also enhances fat loss and thermogenesis thanks to piperine, the pungent alkaloid inside black pepper responsible for its bite.

Erythropalum scandens (50mg)

Erythropalum Scandens is another novel ingredient rich in PEA substances that will have a longer lasting and strong stim kick than regular PEA. Native to Southern Asia, Erythropalum Scandens is an herb widely used for its medicinal qualities. Researchers investigated the plant have discovered roughly 40 bioactive compounds in its leaves[10], some of which enhance energy levels and mood.

Of particular interest, are N-Benzyl-2-phenylethylamine, 2-Phenylethylamine, and N,N-Diethyl-2-Phenylethylamine which exhibit a longer half-life than regular PEA and provide a superior mood and stim kick over plain old PEA.[11]

1,3 Dimethylamylamine HCl (45mg)

The king of aliphatic amines has returned to Blackstone Labs after a brief hiatus. DMAA is known far and wide for its stimulating and mood-elevating effects, and it functions all the better when paired alongside caffeine. Anecdotally, DMAA also exhibits fairly strong appetite suppression, which helps eliminate any hunger cravings hardcore dieters get from time to time.

And yes, before you even ask DMAA is both safe and legal (for the time being).

This dose reminds us of Hi-Tech Pharma’s Fastin dose, but with newer ingredients like the PEA from eria jarensis instead of acacia rigidula. Again, this will be the first time Eria has been mixed with DMAA, so it’s going to be a fun ride.

Citrus Aurantium (42.5mg)

To keep the fat burning going, King Cobra includes Citrus Aurantium, standardized to 25mg synephrine. A safe and effective ephedra substitute[12,13], citrus aurantium is used far and wide in fat burners.

Synephrine acts on the Beta-2 and Beta-3 receptors in your body[14,15], which stimulates the release of triglycerides (lipolysis).
